UrnTrays: A Great Alternative for Beautiful Wedding Cake Flowers

It's wedding season! Which means you're gearing up to continue to produce some astounding wedding florals, including CAKE FLOWERS.

We've been throughout the country selling UrnTrays and have seen some common themes. Florists are looking for alternatives to "up" their game. They love how versatile UrnTray is and that they can use it for more than just urn wreaths.

One trend we've noticed with wedding cakes is that couples are leaning more towards simply decorated  "cutting" cakes. They opt for cakes that are smaller and designed just for the couple to enjoy. This helps to lower costs and down play old traditions. It also helps to avoid wasting a three-foot-tall cake that usually goes uneaten by guests.

UrnTrays are the perfect size for these single-tier wedding cakes. Their pedestal in the center helps to elevate the cake for display, while the tray portion can be filled with elegant blooms to match the rest of the wedding florals.

We love that it is simple, yet elegant, and is everything you'd expect from gorgeous cake flowers. Even better, you don't have to worry about any plant matter getting into the cake with the more traditional approach of inserting flowers directly into the cake. Plus, set up is simple, just set the cake on it. No last-minute designing necessary and the blooms stay fresh all day since they're in wet foam instead of frosting.

Here are a few other ways to use an urn tray in weddings and celebrations:

  • Use as the base of centerpieces where candles, framed photos, lanterns, goblets, etc. set on the pedestal portion.
  • Put special hors d'oeuvres or appetizers on them during the celebration for an elegant display.
  • Set them sporadically on the food tables to help with dimension and space optimization while adding in some wedding elegance to the serving platters.
  • Use it on a special memoir table to highlight the photo of a loved one that has passed.
  • Place it on the entry table with a sign or photo of the couple placed in the center.
  • Set a glass canister or other container on it filled with sparklers, rice, bubbles, etc. in it for the couple's grand exit.

Even the food table need some extra pizzaz! Here's an example of an UrnTray used to highlight a platter of scones.
