The mold of an urntray is made out of metal.

UrnTray's Journey through it's First Year

Yes, it has been a year since we first had the dream of creating UrnTray.  At the time, we didn't even know it would be called UrnTray. One's thing for sure though, we knew we had to create a new solution for florists and the challenge of creating an urn wreath. The entire process included some of the following (and many many more)

  1. Designing the urntray
  2. Acquiring funding
  3. Finding a manufacturer (that didn't end up working out)
  4. Many interviews with other manufactures (and finally finding a great fit)
  5. Prototypes
  6. The birth of the new business
  7. More prototypes
  8. Building a website, and all that goes into starting a new business
  9. Acquiring more funding to create the correct molding
  10. Prototype testing (and a few other major tweaks)
  11. We finally have a our first product that was right! Yeah!
  12. Shipping our first batch of product from the manufacturer
  13. Finding a warehouse solution
  14. Selling it and getting repeat customers! And wow, it is exciting to see the response from all the seasoned floral designers and floral shop owners who love it!

The mold of an urntray is made out of metal.Have you ever seen the behind-the-scenes of a product like this? This is one of the pictures of the early stages of developing the mold for Urntray. Isn't it neat to see part of the process to get UrnTray to you as a great solution to making better, more efficient urn wreaths?  We appreciate all your support in getting us to this point and hope to have a bigger size out this summer.

This tray is not just for urns but can also be used for:

A ceramic bunny sits on top of an urntray surrounded with live plants and succulents.
  • Centerpieces for holidays and special events
  • Food platters with pizzazz
  • Live centerpieces using dirt (like this one). Keep an eye out for the next blog where I'll explain how to make one with live plants and succulents.

Thanks again for all of your support with this new product. Made in the USA by a florist for you, a florist!

Have a great week!
